The taste for music would be of genes, except for the country

Posted by: Earl Bermel  |  Category: News  |  Views: 28

-The type of music that we listen would depend on our genes, according to a study by the brand of mobile phones Nokia and the Department specialising in twins of the Kings’ College London. Genetic factors come into play especially for pop, classical music and hip-hop (53% genetic influence), and jazz, blues and soul (46%) and the rock (40%). But the craze for the country would be somewhat due to genes (24%).
Genetic factors would disappear gradually in favour of personal musical experience, to set our musical tastes.

Yet this is not checked for country music. The genes of people over 50 years would have more influence (55%) to determine the taste for this music. In comparison, the external factors would influence 45% of the musical tastes of the lovers of country over 50 years.

However, external factors to genetics may explain the constitution of a collection of music for more than 50 years in 60% of cases.

For less than 50 years, the genetic influence would have 56% of influence on jazz, blues and soul, while pop, classical, rap would have 56% genetic influence. The rock and heavy metal have 53% genetic influence. Finally, genetic influences would have 0% for the country and folk influence.

By against fifty and more would be influenced by their genes to 43% for pop, classical music, and rap, 42% for the jazz, blues and soul, 34% for the rock and heavy metal, and 28% for the country.

While the genetic influence on the music that we appreciate is demonstrated by this study, genes have little influence (25%) the reasons which lead us to listen to music. The reason that leads us to listen to music may be explained by a desire to be in a certain State of mind, or just enjoy listening.

Nokia and the Department specialising in twins of the Kings’ College London studied the musical tastes of 4,000 twin for this study. They discussed the influence of environmental factors and genes. “Next”.
