Swine flu: Dresdner vaccine receives approval

Dresden (ddp). The so-called swine flu H1N1 vaccine produced in Dresden has received European approval. As the spokeswoman of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Anke Helten, reported on Wednesday, «Pandemrix» should thus be sent from next week to the European governments. Only the Federal Government ordered already 50 million doses.

Total GSK will produce up to 300 million vaccine doses for all over Europe and parts of Asia this year in Dresden, Germany with about 850 employees. The production of the vaccine is running since end of June and binds all the resources of the work. Around 100,000 people for the British pharmaceutical company working in worldwide.
