Seasonal influenza activity continues to weaken

-Seasonal flu has had a low activity in France the week ranging from 1 to 7 February 2010, according to the weekly newsletter of the Sentinel Network released Wednesday. The incidence of influenza syndromes seen in general medicine consultation is 43 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. An impact largely below the epidemic threshold in 170 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. No region presents an incidence rates above the epidemic threshold. <br /> All of the France was only slightly affected by seasonal flu during the week of 1-February 7, 2010. On all of the observed cases, two cases of hospitalization for “refractory fever” were reported in 11 months and 82 patients.

The median age of reported cases is 20 years for persons aged 11 months to 83 years. Please note, men represent 44% of cases.

The activity of asthma attacks, another disease monitored by the Sentinel Network, is considered moderate for the week of 1 to 7 February. “Next”.
