Hamburg (dpa) – whether in soap operas, movies or sports broadcasts: alcohol is constantly present in television. According to a study presented in Hamburg on Wednesday, nine scenes with alcohol are shown per hour on average. However, drinking will very rarely addressed, it says. Alcohol is the 20 hamburger media debate, in which the study commissioned by the regional media authority and the Federal Centre for health education was presented “a socially accepted drug and work of the devil at the same time,” said Dietrich Sattler from the Board of Directors of the Hamburg Institute for new media (HAM) to open. “A large part of the representations of the alcohol has only a low priority, such as the bar for Dallas’ or a herumstehende bottle of sparkling wine”, contributing author Claudia Lampert said. There are hardly any romantic scenes in which attacked the players not to champagne or wine in series or movies. Alcohol in commercials for products is particularly common to see, that have nothing to do with drinks. In particular the imputed combination of alcohol and certain values, such as masculinity and fun is questionable. (bs)
