Berlin (dapd). Philipp Rösler, Health Minister wants to force the pharmaceutical industry to cooperate in the review of the benefits of new medicines. If necessary such drugs could be excluded from the regulation, if companies refused to give studies on added value of the products in order, said the FDP politician according to the “Aachener Zeitung” on Tuesday. “The requirements for the studies should be designed so that that actually can be placed, whether or not the product has an additional benefit”, he added on.

With his new drug law, Rösler wants to advance the so-called cost benefit assessment. It is found whether a new means is actually worth the money demanded by the industry. The evaluation is theoretically already possible. Indeed – there is no them but still also because often appropriate studies are lacking.
