This drug is a generic of PRINZIDE. It is an association of antihypertensive drugs of drugs to control blood pressure. In this case this drug combines a (IEC) converting enzyme inhibitor and a diuretic (favouring the Elimination of urine) thiazidique. Converting enzyme inhibitor is a drug that has the property of blocking the action of the enzyme which converts angiotensin 1 is a protein found in the usually inactive blood in an active form called angiotensin 2. This protein is the origin of blood vessel constriction (closure). Converting enzyme action stops the production of angiotensin 2. This consequence is vasodilation (increase the size of blood vessels) and consecutively a decrease in blood pressure and a decrease in the work provided by the heart.

Indications
This drug is generally used when other drugs designed to fight the rise in blood pressure did not have good results.

Quincke’s requiring emergency treatment (UAS, firefighters, 18, 15 etc.)
Headaches (headaches)
Fatigue
Change of blood pressure
Skin rash
Dry cough
Increase the rate of sugar in the blood
Increase in the rate of uric acid in blood
Hypokalemia (decreased blood potassium levels) that can cause cramps
Vertigo

Contraindications
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Allergy enalapril, captopril, lisinopril and thiazide diuretic
Renal failure
Hyperkalemia (elevation level of potassium in the blood)
Infant and child
Associations to another antihypertensive drug

Comments
This medication requires monitoring of the rate of potassium in the blood uric acid levels and sodium.
On the other hand, it is likely to interact with other drugs especially certain diuretics, some laxatives.
Some diabetics dosages must be adapted.
The making of amphotericin B, tétracosactide, laxative, stimulant, corticosteroid requires additional monitoring of the rate of potassium in the blood i.e. the periodic.
