Definition

He s’agit d’une benign skin (and not not cancerous) tumor occurring around the 60 and characterized by a development that could go jusqu’à total and spontaneous regression. This tumour Hazel d’une size and purple color, also has the names of atypical Sebaceous Cyst, molluscum sebaceum or pseudo-carcinomatosum molluscum. Hemispherical or slightly flattened shape, the Keratoacanthoma has in its centre a small area slightly depressed (intaglio) usually filled with dander (kind of small scales or slats from the surface of the skin). Usually sitting on the level of the face, the Keratoacanthoma heals spontaneously within a few months but could turn into squamous cell tumours *. It is generally advisable to its surgical removal which allows at the same time d’effectuer its analysis in laboratory and d’écarter as a possible cancerous tumour.   * L’épithélioma squamous cell is also called malignant tumor carcinoma and developing at the expense of epithelial tissues. Epithelial tissues are tissue recovery and protection of the surface of certain organs of the human body located at l’extérieur, as the skin, the mucous membranes of the natural orifices, etc. Epithelial tissues are also glands. There are several types of epithelial tissues, l’épiderme is one. It is preferable d’utiliser carcinoma to the term d’épithélioma. But the use has retained the name carcinoma to designate certain diseases, especially skin, such as basal cell and squamous cell l’épithélioma.
