Mainz (ddp). At the Mainz University Clinic, a new method of treatment of stress urinary incontinence in women is used since a few weeks. On Monday, the Director of the University Women’s clinic, Heinz Kölbl presented the procedure with the name «TVT-secur» in Mainz. A few centimeters long plastic string around the urethra of the woman is placed during surgery. It is to avoid that urine unintentionally happens when strain or vibration of the bubble. According to Kölbl, the women’s clinic is one of three hospitals in Germany, which employ this method. The surgery is performed under local anaesthesia. Assume that the health insurance cost.
