Definition

The term cardiomegaly refers, in General, a large heart. This term also refers to a condition characterized by the presence of a large heart, which is not known with precision the etiology (cause), most often in nature which is mainly observed in young individuals and family.

Medical examination

The ECG shows a thickening of the walls of the left ventricle and the presence of a block of left (absence of the passage of nerve impulses which usually allows the beats of the heart, between the Atria and the ventricles) on the left Chambers of the heart.

Evolution of the disease

The evolution of family cardiomyopathy is variable depending on the individual and more or less rapid. It is to a failure that is impossible for the heart to pump, occurring way gradually and irreducible functions.
