BROMO-KIN 5 mg Bromocriptine 5 mg capsules Action
Bromocriptine is a member of the family of the dopaminergic (dopamine-containing substances). Dopamine is a substance that is secreted normally by some cells, specifically the cells of the nervous system. It has the ability to brake the secretion of prolactin (hormone responsible for the secretion of milk among others).
This drug is used in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease alone or in combination and in excess of secretion of prolactin-related disorders. Prolactin is a proteinaceous hormone, produced by the pituitary and more particularly its anterior lobe (pituitary gland “conductor” is of the body: it regulates other hormones of the body).

Dosage
The effective amount for each individual is strictly personal. It is the physician who, with the participation of the patient, must find the most effective dose should be the lowest possible. The increase in the quantities absorbed will be progressive to limit the occurrence of adverse effects (secondary).

Contraindications
• Allergy to bromocriptine
• Allergy rye ergot derivatives
• Important hypertension during pregnancy

Precautions
• Seniors age 65 +, especially those with heart disease?
• Patients with severe mental impairment?
• Patients with ulcers of the stomach or a history of ulcers of the stomach or duodenum? must be monitored
• Occurrence of lumbar pain, of? edema of the legs, headache (headaches), discomfort in breathing? tell your doctor.
Drug interactions
The association with some Neuroleptics is contraindicated

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
In the current state of medical knowledge on the use of bromocriptine during pregnancy, this drug does not appear to have a harmful effect. However, only the medical team following pregnancy can give its opinion on the use of this molecule.
This drug inhibits (prevents) the lactation.

Note
Bromocriptine is likely to restore fertility in sterile women (prolactin excess). This means that if a pregnancy is not desired, contraception is useful. However, the pill can be used because it is contraindicated in the case of excess prolactin.
