Patients have Munich (Reuters) – toxins from bacteria in allergy escalate the asthma. The so-called Super antigens could be responsible even for a large part of the asthma-related deaths, reported experts on Wednesday at the world allergy Congress in Munich. The substances would have resulted had Staphylococcus aureus from bacteria, which is detectable in about one-third of the population. In most cases, the staph infection causes no problems, said the Belgian physician Professor Claus Bachert. These bacteria could be very harmful in people with severe respiratory diseases such as paranasal sinus inflammation or asthma. You release toxins, which are a particularly large number of Defense cells of the immune system «hot» as a so-called Super antigens. The result was a massive inflammatory response. In asthma patients this can cause, that the disease out of control devices and was no longer to treat with cortisone. Super antigens could cause for a large part of which is approximately 2700 asthma-related deaths per year in Germany, Bachert is suspected. «With antibiotics alone, we get the problem sufficiently under control.» «Vaccination can prevent in the future that bronchial asthma with fatal consequences escalate a paranasal sinus inflammation or asthma.» Currently am working feverishly to find an effective weapon against Staph infections or the Super antigens.
