-According to a Swedish study, eat the fish fats protect of rheumatoid arthritis, a form of chronic inflammatory rheumatism. Presented at the annual meeting of the European League against rheumatism (Eular), which was held in Paris from 11 to 14 June 2008, results show that regular consumption of this type of fish would reduce individual risk of developing this joint disease of 20-30%.
Fatty fish, include foods such as herring, mackerel, salmon, trout, tuna, anchovies, and sardines.

This study, conducted on a broad sample of population in Sweden, also shows that smoking and stress in the workplace are instead factors of risk for the development of rheumatoid arthritis.
