ACTAPULGITE Actapulgite of Mormoiron enabled as a powder for oral suspension Mechanism of action
The actapulgite is a dressing gastrointestinal, radio-transparent, allowing this fact radiological investigations without having to stop processing. The color of the stool is not changed under treatment.

Indications
Functional intestinal manifestations essentially with bloat and diarrhea.

Dosage and administration
2 to 3 packs a day before meals
2 bags a day before meals for children whose weight exceeds 10 kg
The laboratory recommends mixing dry powder with sugar before adding water.

Contraindications
Stenosis of the digestive tract.

Counselling and precautions
Patients with megacolon or alteration of the motor activity of colon with risk of impaction will have to take this drug with caution.
Patients with diabetes or a low carbohydrate diet must take into account the glucose content of 2.7 g/bag.

Interactions
The association with the following drugs requires precautions of use. Indeed, there is a decrease of ingestion by the digestive mucosa of these drugs simultaneously absorbed to the actapulgite:
• TB
• Fluoroquinolones
• ETHAMBUTOL and isoniazid
• Lincosamides
• Cyclin
• H2 antihistamines
• Digoxin
• Atenolol, metoprolol
• Chloroquine
• Diflunisal
• Sodium fluoride
• Phénothiaziniques Neuroleptics
• Glucocorticoids (particularly Prednisolone and dexamethasone)
• Propranolol
• Iron salts
• Diphosphonates
• Penicillamine
• Kayexalate
• Indomethacin
• Ketoconazole
• Lansoprazole

As a precaution, it is preferable to absorb the actapulgite distance of other drugs (more than 2 hours to the extent possible).

Pregnancy
The indication of this drug during pregnancy should not be raised except in exceptional cases. Indeed, there is no study demonstrating the total safety of this molecule.

Adverse effects
The occurrence of constipation in some patients is possible in case of prolonged use or high doses.
